【Product Introduction】
Zirconium oxide fiber felt is made of 100% yttria-stabilized zirconium oxide fibers with a diameter of 4-6 microns. Designed for use in extremely corrosive environments and high temperatures, it is 100% inorganic fiber and does not contain binders. It does not undergo phase changes during temperature cycles and is a very effective thermal insulation material that can be used at temperatures of 2000°C. It is also suitable for strong oxidizing and reducing environments and does not react to alkali vapors, salts or strong hot solutions. Zirconia fiber felts are not wetted by most molten metals and have low adsorption surface area and vapor pressure, making them very useful in high vacuum. The felts are lightweight and highly porous. They can be surface coated with polymers, filled with inorganic powders or treated with inorganic colloids to obtain special properties.

1. General: Zirconia fiber felt is an excellent general high temperature insulation material, which can be used as an isolator, packaging material, fixture, gasket, cushion, mat, barrier, covering, layering or filler material.
2. High temperature furnace: Zirconia fiber felt is used for powder metal sintering, quartz glass melting and hot working operations in vacuum and hydrogen atmosphere.
3. High temperature barrier/cover: MoSi2 elements in rapid cycle furnaces will shed aggressive silica glass during high temperature heat treatment. Regular use of zirconia fiber felt will protect your silica vulnerable vessels from damage caused by MoSi2 elements.
4. High-temperature insulation: Used between refractory metal thermal barriers to improve insulation in vacuum furnaces and hot isostatic presses.
5. Crystal growth: Zirconia fiber felt acts as a thermal and buffering barrier in the Czochralski method of oxide crystal growth, and also as a platform for iridium recovery. In this method, an iridium crucible is typically used to load the melt. Iridium, as a precious metal in the platinum group, evaporates at high temperatures. Wrapping a layer of zirconia fiber felt around the iridium crucible creates a physical barrier that separates the crucible from the insulation. The steep thermal gradient of the fiber felt causes the iridium to condense into the felt, which can then be easily separated and recovered.
6. Electrolytic cell gaskets:
Zirconium oxide fiber felt is not affected by long-term exposure to potassium hydroxide and is used as a separator/gasket in batteries and fuel cells using alkaline electrolytes.
